The Automation Engineer role is a contract position for 6-12 months. This role is critical for the seamless integration of automated systems and the rigorous validation of new equipment. You will functions with a "boots-on-the-ground" mentality and be the primary technical lead for troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems and ensuring that our automated lines meet strict regulatory and operational standards.
- Validation & Commissioning: Lead and execute Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) and equipment validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) to ensure systems meet design specifications and compliance requirements.
- PLC Troubleshooting: Perform advanced diagnostics and programming adjustments on PLC systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, etc.) to minimize downtime.
- Electro-Mechanical Support: Troubleshoot and repair complex automated machinery involving robotics, servos, sensors, pneumatics and vision systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in automated processes and implement hardware or software upgrades to enhance throughput.
- Shift Flexibility: Provide critical technical support during off-shift hours to ensure 24/7 manufacturing continuity.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of system modifications, validation protocols and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs.

- Validation Experience: Demonstrated success in executing SATs and formal validation protocols in a regulated environment.
- Systems Fluency: Familiarity with SCADA, Ignition, or other integrated manufacturing execution systems.
- Experience: 3+ years in an automation-heavy manufacturing environment (High-speed packaging, Medical Device or Automotive preferred).
- Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical certifications/experience.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to trace a system failure back to the root cause—whether it’s a line of code or a frayed wire.
