To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Process Engineer located in Austin, TX. Reporting to the Manager the Process Engineer role would be responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to hold up a manufacturing organization.
- Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts technologies and techniques.
- Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
- Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
- Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root-causes of equipment failures and develop hands-on maintenance skills.
- Work with other engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving and continuous improvement to the design of equipment and products
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Development and update of PFMEA for new products.
- Participate in control plan development.
- Write and update work instructions and other documents (e.g., specifications, procedures).
- Analyze and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confer with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Coordinate with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and respond to customer request.
- Provide information for management decisions from a technical and technical cost perspective.
- Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, industrial or Mechanical industry or equivalent 5+ years of experience in related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Good communication skills and excellent relational skills.
- Experience with equipment validation, GMP compliance and change control processes for manufacturing equipment.
- Able to run and explain simulations.
- Impacts immediate (daily or weekly) operations of the team or functional area.
- Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies.
- Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area.
- Demonstrates commitment to implement initiatives.
- Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to achieve objectives.
- May make decisions absent management supervision using broad guidelines.
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work but can work independently, and in some cases may supervise/oversee others.
